Boil Water Notice Issued for Rural Coke County

COKE COUNTY, TX -- A boil water notice has been issued for rural residents in Coke County who get water from the Coke County Water Supply Corporation.

According to Coke Co. WSC Office Manager Kelly Baker, they had a water main break and are waiting on parts to repair the line.

The boil water notice is not for residents in Robert Lee or Bronte.

The best method of treatment is boiling.  Boiling water kills harmful bacteria and parasites (freezing will not disinfect water).

Bring water to a full rolling boil for at least 1-2 minutes to kill most infectious organisms (germs).

Baker says the boil water notice will be in effect through Wednesday and they will advise residents when it is safe to use tap water again.

Residents with questions about the boil water notice for the Coke County WSC can call Baker at 325-763-8815.
