Brown County Voters Approve Uniform Alcohol Sales Countywide

BROWNWOOD, TX -- Brown County voters has passed a measure to legalize all sales of alcohol countywide.

This is something that voters say will be a huge boost for the local business in town.

The laws were pretty confusing before the change with a combination of wet and dry towns and areas of the county.

"Brownwood laws were different than those of Early which was different than the county laws" says the Treasurer of the Citizens for Better Business Steven McCrane.

The vote ended up being 7,524 in favor versus 2,510 opposed according to bigcountryhomepage

"I want to thank all the citizens of Brown County that voted yesterday that understood what it was really about that sent the message that hopefully these businesses will see that they support them and want it to be fair regardless going forward," McCrane said.
