Thousands Converge on Wall for 79th Annual St. Ambrose Fall Festival

WALL, TX -- Organizers of the 79th annual St. Ambrose Fall Festival in Wall, TX planned on feeding 4,000 people Sunday.

The weather cleared and thousands of people crowded the parish hall at the small Catholic Church for a meal of turkey and dressing and sausage with all the trimmings.

Parishioners made homemade desserts to go along with the turkey and dressing, home made German sausage, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans and coleslaw.

They also sold thousands of pounds of raw sausage for $5 per pound and new this year, raw pork ribs for $1 per pound.

The meal was $10 per plate for dine-in or plates to go.

There was also games for the children and an auction with entertainment.

The annual festival is the largest fundraiser for the Church.
