Downtown Cafe May Reopen Soon

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The cafe in the Stephens Central Library may reopen in a couple of weeks after Tom Green County Commissioners appointed a committee to negotiate the final two best and final offers with vendors Tuesday morning.

As we reported back in April, the Library Cafe shut down after the operator failed to pay the County rent for four months.  Commissioner Rick Bacon Tuesday said there were two vendors bidding for the location. The negotiating committee includes Tom Green County Library System Director Jill Donegan, Community Room Coordinator Marcy Bosequett, Assistant Library Director Wanda Green and Brian McGuire.

Commissioners also spent about 45 minutes discussing software for the four Justice of the Peace offices.  The Justices of the Peace for years have requested replacing the software they use in each of their offices.  Commissioners had a long discussion about the details of the proposal and tabled action on it until next week.

The Commissioners Court also approved appointing Michael Englert as a part time deputy Constable for Pct. 1.  County Judge Swore Englert in after the Court approved his appointment. He was recommended by Pct. 1 Constable Mike Magee.
