SAN ANGELO, TX -- (Press Release) The Texas Southwest Council of the Boy Scouts of America is excited to announce our new "Scout Me In" campaign where both boys and girls from kindergarten to the fifth grade can join scouting. This is an exciting way to invite families to enjoy access to the character development and values-based leadership opportunities that Scouting provides.
Cub Scouting is more than just an activity. It's adventure, learning, and discovery around every corner. From STEM to exploring the outdoors, your son or daughter will be on the path to discovering their very best "future self"- and they'll have fun doing it!
The Texas Southwest Council is going to dive into family scouting and Scout Me In with membership rallies at every school in San Angelo ISD. Each school will have fun activities for the kids to do while the parents get more information and sign-up.
All membership rallies will be held from 6:15 to 7p.m. on the dates below:
- Monday, September 10th: Angelo Catholic School, Santa Rita, Austin, Lamar, Goliad, Holiman, and San Jacinto
- Tuesday, September 11th: Crockett, Bowie, Alta Loma, Bonham, Bradford (5:15-6:00), and Fort Concho
- Thursday, September 13th: Glenmore, McGill, Fannin, TLCA, Reagan, and Belaire
Saturday night September 14th at 8 p.m., a free viewing of the Lego Movie at the Downtown Movie parking lot between Concho Avenue and Twohig Avenue will help us wrap up our membership drive so bring your chairs and blankets to come join in the fun. It is free to free to the public with other activities including pinewood derby races, popcorn, and much more.
If you want a proven program that will help your children gain skills that will stay with your child for life, then come to one the events at your child's school, go to beascout.org, or call the scout office at 325-655-7107.
We look forward to seeing everyone out there and remember to "Scout ME IN!”
