Why First Financial Bank Customers' Debit Cards Were Not Working

ABILENE, TX — Customers of First Financial Bank may have experienced difficulties utilizing their debit cards starting late Friday afternoon. According to the bank, an AT&T network outage caused connectivity problems at the 72-location bank, disabling various ATMs, debit cards, online banking, and on-premises banking computer systems.

By 7:45 a.m. Saturday, First Financial announced the issues are resolved with AT&T and all services were restored.

“We are working diligently to complete balance updates on transactions made yesterday,” First Financial Bank Texas said in a statement

First Financial Bank asks customers still experiencing difficulties with their banking products to call toll free (855) 660-5862. The line is open until 5 p.m. Saturday.
