SAN ANGELO, TX -- The Cork & Pig Tavern has officially moved into its new location on Knickerbocker Road today. The move was expected for months but the soft opening Tuesday evening was a surprise and was announced via facebook video.
Owner Virginia Dalbeck says they were ready to move back in May and are now, finally, in the new building which used to be Johnny Carinos. “Yes, Yes! We are so excited to be in the new building it has been a really long process and we are so excited to get out of that small gas station.”
“The new location will be more comfortable for all our guests. There’s more opportunities for private parties.” Dalbeck continued. “The main thing is that our guests will be more comfortable and we’ll have more items on our menu. There’s more room in the kitchen so we expanded our menu. There’s more grilled items on our menu which we couldn’t have before, so our steaks have a lot more flavor.”
Dalbeck says they have, “More steaks, more flavor; our kitchen is an actual kitchen.” “You know, you have to be comfortable to be able to enjoy your dining experience.”
“We’re never going to change our pizzas!” Dalbeck said.
Dalbeck is the former runner up on Hell’s Kitchen.
According to Tyler Hughes, Dalbeck, along with John Nestor and Felipe Armenta opened Cork & Pig Tavern in 2010. They then expanded Cork & Pig Tavern to Odessa in 2013, and after teaming up with Ed Buenaventura they opened their Ft. Worth location in 2016.
