San Angelo's Mayor Brenda Gunter Named SBA Small Business Champion

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University Small Business Development Center is pleased to announce San Angelo Mayor Brenda Gunter has won the 2018 SBA Small Business Champion of the Year Award for the SBA San Antonio District, which encompasses 55 counties and includes the cities of San Angelo, Austin, and Laredo. The ASU Small Business Development Center nominated Mayor Gunter for the award.

Each year to help celebrate National Small Business Week (April 29-May 5) the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) accepted nominations in various categories and recognizes entrepreneurs for their achievements. Included are those individuals who champion small business. 

The Small Business Champion award category recognizes an individual who assists small business through advocacy efforts and has fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of small business opportunities.

Dave Erickson, Director of the ASU Small Business Development Center stated, “Mayor Brenda Gunter is very deserving of the SBA Small Business Champion award because she is a great individual who always works towards improving the environment for small businesses.”

Award presentations will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at the New Braunfels Civic Center beginning at 11:30 am.
