Having Trouble With Your AT&T Cell Phone Service? Read This

SAN ANGELO, TX — AT&T announced just after 7 p.m. Wednesday a way to work around what has been reported as a spotty, nationwide outage.

“If you’ve experienced an issue when making wireless calls, please restart your device, this might be required multiple times-that should resolve the issue,” the telecom company tweeted at 7:10 p.m. this evening.

AT&T said in a statement that it is aware of the outage at about the same that the company tweeted the proposed fix for its customers.

Incorrect information is being reported locally that the AT&T outage is just a San Angelo or Texas problem. According to the monitoring website DownStatus.com, the problem began displaying on their graphs just before 4 p.m. today. Since 8 p.m. outage reports began subsiding, with most of the reports originating in NFL cities, especially Atlanta, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Another solution offered on Twitter, if the suggested power cycle from AT&T doesn’t work, is to reset the network settings.

The way to do this on most iPhones is to go to:

Settings > general > reset > reset network settings.

The way to reset the network on an Android is

Settings > connections > more connections > reset network Settings
