Iggy's Italian Ice Has Closed for Good

SAN ANGELO, TX – Iggy's Italian Ice has closed their doors in San Angelo.  Today at 2 p.m. we dropped by the once popular dessert place to see if the rumors were true. The doors were locked and no one was around. We later confirmed through a separate source that Iggy's in San Angelo was a goner.

Their additional location in Mansfield is still up and running with a Groupon ad offering 40% and over a thousand takers of the discount.  Over 1,000 of the Groupon have been sold. Their twitter account still shows the layered desserts once offered in two San Angelo locations.  The location at 113 E. Concho Ave. has been closed for several months. Today, we learned the Sherwood location is following suit.

Iggy's served Italian Ice and Ice Cream, layered as a Gelati.

Sounds like this place won't be missed at all because with their name printed in this story is the first time I've ever heard of the place.....

Sad that San Angelo is losing so many stores of all different kinds. Restaurants, department stores, etc. Sure I did not go to all of the closed down stores most of the time, but others I knew of did. Now Iggy's. My son just received a gift certificate from Iggy's 2 weeks ago. Now what is he to do. They got the money for the gift card.
