Flurry of Construction Activity on Northside Will Be Apartment Complexes

SAN ANGELO, TX — The northside is about to have new apartments to live in. Kirby Park Villas at 609 W. 29th St. near the northside Wal-Mart is well under construction.

The 72-unit apartment complex will be marketed to senior citizens, according to a City of San Angelo forum held November of last year. At the City permitting office, it is listed as a $5.832 million project.

At last year’s forum, it was learned that the proposed rent will be in the $500 per month range.

The apartments are subsidized with a grant from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. To win these grants, the City Council helped the developer, Zimmerman Properties, with an endorsement.

Kirby Park Villas is a sister project to a low-income housing project called Kirby Commons. It will be an 80-unit apartment complex built next door.
