SAN ANGELO, TX- TJ's Frozen Yogurt and Gourmet Coffee north San Angelo location is closing its doors Monday, October 3rd.
Janet Lay, owner of TJs, explained the reason for the store's closing.
"Not enough income was made compared to the success of the south store," Lay said.
She added that selling ice cream and coffee wasn't enough to grab customers when other restaurants in the area sold those same products, as well as food.
"We made the decision that we would rather let someone else open up a restaurant instead of starting to serve food at our locations," Lay said.
She mentioned that the store at 3347 Knickerbocker Rd. will remain open. The North Bryant location is currently up for sale or leasing.

LOL.... Well that was quick !!!
""She added that selling ice cream and coffee wasn't enough to grab customers when other restaurants in the area sold those same products, as well as food."" ....... Um, you'd think that would pretty much be something you'd study before spending $100k remodeling and furnishing a small business.......

PermalinkOpen for one month, doesn't have the same profit as a business that has been in business for more than 3 years.......Sounds like someone has a lot of money and not a lot of business smarts. It takes time to establish a business, the original location didn't really become a hot spot for 4-8 months after opening. There are very few turn key business that will turn into an immediate success over night. Now if she would have opened a Shakey's then that may have been different........
