San Angelo Native Stephen “Sonny” Dooley became an official member of the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce this afternoon. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by both family and friends who came out to support this new business.
Dooley has worked in the business for 16 years, but began his own business over a year ago.
Born and raised in San Angelo, the Dooley family is working together to help the business grow. Dooley AC & Heating is entirely made up of family members and friends. Both Dooley's son and wife are part of the business, as well as his older sister.
“It has been his dream for a long time, “ said Brooke Dooley, daughter of Sonny Dooley. “He came from a family who had literally nothing and worked his way up to his dream.”
Dooley said he hopes to bring quality work to San Angelo; and even though he knows there are great local ac/heating business in town, he knows Dooley AC & Heating can compete with them.
“What’s going to make us stand out is the quality of work we do.” Dooley said.
Among the family and friends present was also Mayor Dwain Morrison.
“I think he is going to be very successful,” Morrison said, “I wish them all the success in the world.”
Laura Lewis, of the Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the Dooley family and led the cutting of the ribbon.
“Small business like Sonny Dooley’s are very important to the economy of San Angelo,” Lewis said,” We are thrilled to have him.”
