Board members of the Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC) elected Mike Campbell as President of the TACHC Board of Directors on Nov. 4, 2015, said a press release Thursday.
Campbell, who has been the Chief Executive Officer at La Esperanza Clinic, Inc. for almost 11 years, has also served as the Director of Behavioral Health at MHMR Services for the Concho Valley. In addition to completing the Health Care Management Program at University of California, Campbell also holds a Master of Science degree from the University of North Texas.
In addition to serving on the TACHC Board of Directors, he also serves on the Policy & Issues, Recruitment and Retention, and Nominations committees.
Jose E. Camacho, executive director and general counsel of the Texas Association of Community Health Centers said, "Mike will lead our health centers when access to care and health coverage are critical to the well-being of the patients we serve, our communities and our state. Success in these arenas depends on strong leadership and the ability to speak with one voice. I look forward to working with Mike in his new role as President of the TACHC Board of Directors."
Additionally, Campbell stated, "This is a time of challenge and opportunity in bringing quality, meaningful health care to those most in need. As a membership organization, the Texas Association of Community Health Centers is and must remain the rallying voice for health centers at the local, state and federal levels. Serving in the position of President of the Board of Directors, I will endeavor to keep our vision focused upon the needs of the people we serve and the clinics we represent."
La Esperanza, which began at 1610 South Chadbourne, has been delivering a wide range of health care service since 1996. Medical, dental, primary health care, women's health services, and annual physical examinations are included in these services. They have now expanded to the Lakeview Clinic at 35 East 31st Street and Administrative Offices in the Village Shopping Center Area.
