Farmers Market Reduces Weekly sales to 2

The Concho Valley Farmers Market is reducing its weekly produce sales to Tuesday and Saturday mornings only, effective immediately.

The sales begin at 7 a.m. under the pavilion at 609 S. Oakes St. across from Fort Concho.

The vendors, who come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo, offer locally grown and seasonal fruits, vegetables and plants at each sale until they sell out (typically by noon). Peppers, some greens and tomatoes, okra, zucchini, eggplant and other items remain available. The farmers market typically charges customers $1 for a bundle or a bowl of produce.

The market will hold its sales until the first fall freeze.

Interested farmers can join the market for $15 or $20, which allows them to set up a stand for $5 or $10 at each sale.
