How to get a $30 Credit for Shopping Local

As the shopping madness continues through the weekend, some 50 local business will be participating in Small Business Saturday, an effort promoted by American Express that encourages communities to shop local.

The movement began in 2010, when the credit card company offered rewards back to Am/Ex users, who shopped in qualifying stores. This year, the company is offering $10 back to customers who make a purchase of $10 or more at a qualifying local business with their American Express card.

The deal is limited to three transactions per customer, and is only available to those who hold American Express cards. In order to receive the $10-$30 credit, cardholders must first register online. Space is limited.

Below is a list of some of the participating stores in San Angelo. A comprehensive map can be found on the American Express website.
