This Friday night, football fans in the Concho Valley have a special treat. The San Angelo Bobcats will play a rare home Playoff game against Arlington Bowie at 7 p.m. at San Angelo Stadium.
The Bobcats have now won district two of the last three years, but this year won an outright district championship against teams from the Little Southwest Conference for the first time since 1963.
The 9-1 Bobcats are a very exciting team to watch--both offensively and defensively. But the Cats will need all the help we can give them as they play a very good 7-3 Arlington Bowie team who play in a tough district and have four players committed to Div. 1 college programs; a quarterback and defensive back to TCU, and an offensive lineman to Texas Tech and Fresno State. The Cats have frequently played Arlington teams in the playoffs the past few years, but have not beaten them.
San Angelo business leaders urge all of San Angelo to fill the stadium, all 17,500 seats, on Friday night.
Tickets are on sale now at the SAISD Athletic Office at the Administration building. Call them at 947-3700.
The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce asks all to make plans now with your friends to attend. And more importantly, the Chamber asks you to spread the word. Share this story on your social networks.
For San Angelo business owners, the Chamber is urging you to place "Go Cats! Fill the Stadium Friday Night!" on your marquees.
The Mighty Bobcat Band--over 300 strong--earned a berth in the state marching competition this year for the first time since 1981!
Come support the Bobcats and the Mighty Bobcat Band
It happens this Friday night--November 14—at San Angelo Stadium—7 p.m.
