San Angelo Bandits Celebrate Winning Season with Concert July 5

San Angelo Bandit’s head coach Joe Bannen predicted the first season ever for the San Angelo Bandits arena football team before this year’s season began. He said the Bandits, of whom few ever heard, much less considered champions, that they’d go “from worst to first.”

June 21st, the Bandits defeated the Amarillo Venom, earning a tie with the Rio Grande Sol for first place in the league, putting them in the playoffs.

The Bandits, led by quarterback Luke Collis, fought for a well-earned victory. Collis threw nine touchdown passes for 359 yards. The Bandits believe Collis is the best quarterback in the league as a rookie in arena football.

July 5th, the Bandits will host the New Mexico Stars in the first playoff game at Foster Communications Coliseum.

The gates open at 5 p.m. with a 6:05 p.m. kickoff.

Bleu Edmondson Concert Follows

Bleu Edmondson performs on the field immediately after the game. Bandits owner Randy Sanders promises a party. Edmondson will be playing two full 45-minute sets.

Edmondson’s music are staples on the Texas country and alt-country music scenes. His first hit was “Fifty Dollars and a Flask of Crown,” “Southland,” “Finger on the Trigger,” and more recently “No Room for Mercy” and “Blood Red Lincoln.”

Entry to the Bleu Edmondson concert is free with a game ticket to the playoffs.
