Burton Zeb Lathram, 81, of San Angelo, Tx, passed away on August 20,2021 in San Angelo. Burt was a man of faith, integrity, and love. He never met a stranger and his sense of humor was infectious. Burt’s greatest joy was to tell a story that made people laugh, he was a Giver.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 Monday, August 23, 2021, at Belmore Baptist Church, 1214 S. Bell Street. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Eola Cemetery with the Brothers Toby Irwin and Matt Wood of Belmore Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Harper Funeral Home.
Burt was born in Bowie County to Zeb and Bessie Hicks Lathram on March 1, 1940 at home Burt was the youngest of six children and liked to have things done his way. He graduated from Estelline High School in l958. He married the love of his life, Louise Dobson on August 29, 1975 in Austin, TX. His first job was climbing poles for WTU, then owned his own plumbing business. He went on to serve as a Texas DPS Patrolman, transferring into the Narcotics Division. Burt also served as an Investigator for Attorney General John Hill. In 1977 Burt and Weezie moved back to Eola, to farm along with his father-in-law , Fred Dobson. They retired in 2018 and moved to Rio Concho West in San Angelo.
Burt is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, one brother, and a daughter, Valorye Carroll, and son Mark Lathram.
Burt is survived by Weezie, his best friend and loving wife of 46 years, daughter Sabrina and Steve Dorris of Allen, TX, sister Anita Hawkins of Dallas, TX, grandchildren Casey and Eric Hale of McKinney, Cameron Carroll of McKinney, TX, Cassidy Carroll of Redding, CA, BriAnn and Mac Holland of Washington, DC, Kade and Tami Dorris of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren Ellasyn and Burklee Hale, and brother-in-law Dempster and Lesley Dobson of San Angelo, TX.
Memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels or Belmore Baptist Church, Eola cemetery association, or a charity of your choice.
