Marika is preceded in death by her wonderful parents, George and Catherine Fantaoutsaki. She is survived by her cherished children: daughter Karla Harris Scobie and son-in-law Robert Scobie, and son Michael Harris. Marika was the most proud and beloved grandmother of Wyatt Scobie and is also survived by her loving sisters: Anna Baker, Toula Pearson, Sophia Stover, and Eva Dooley, and brother-in-law Bill Dooley, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marika was born on the island of Crete, Greece. Growing up in Greece with the beauty of the ocean as her backyard, she was inspired by the sea and the beauty of God's great creation.
Marika is being celebrated and honored for her incredibly wonderful life. Marika absolutely cherished her family and friends and cherished all the memories and events shared with everyone throughout her full and amazing life.
Marika was such a precious, generous, and gentle soul. She was always full of joy, kindness, grace and patience and was very calm, easy-going and wise beyond comprehension.
She loved gardening, reading, history and travel, and always had fantastic stories to share from all her adventures and experiences around the world.
Marika had a long and rewarding career as a cosmetologist in San Angelo, Texas, and thoroughly enjoyed her many clients through the years.
Although Marika will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is in the best place with Jesus Christ, her loving Savior in heaven.
There will be a Trisagion Service and viewing at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435. W Beauregard, San Angelo, Texas.
A service will be held at 10:00 AM at The Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 801 Montecito Dr, San Angelo, Texas, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
