Alfredo S. Gonzales, 99, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at his home in San Angelo.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service being at 6:00 PM Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Graveside Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Pastor Ron Miller, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Gonzales was born July 17, 1927 in San Angelo to Justo and Margarita Gonzales. Alfredo was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Aleution Islands during WWII. Alfredo married Mary Fernandez on July 2, 1947 in San Angelo. Alfredo was a lifelong resident of San Angelo, working as a welder for Hirchfeld Steel Co, for over 20 years retiring in 1994. Alfredo loved spending time with and working on projects for hie grandchildren. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Alfredo was a member of St, Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 79 years, Mary Gonzales; four sons, Fred Gonzales and wife Elaine, Gilbert Gonzales and wife Lupe Jio, Robert Gonzales, and Eddie Gonzales and wife Sylvia; his sister, Floinda Moya; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Alfredo was preceded in death by his parents, and a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Michelle Gonzales.
Pallbearers will be; Marc Gonzales, Eddie Gonzales, Melissa Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Isaac Gonzales, Michael Bearden, and Gabe Gonzales.
