Born on February 3, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas, she was the daughter of Dorothy Jo and John William Tyler. She was the mother of her only son, Ashton Brunner, who is married to Wendy Brunner.
Gina had a natural appreciation for the beauty and simple pleasures of life. She found happiness in baking, shopping, photography, and her lifelong work in beauty and nursing, where her creativity and caring nature touched the lives of many. She also carried a lifelong love of music that began with playing the piano as a young girl. Her creativity, compassion, and eye for beauty were woven into so much of who she was, and she had a special gift for finding joy in the moments that made life meaningful.
But above all else, Gina’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her younger brother Jerry Tyler and only son Ashton Brunner. Affectionately known as Maw Maw Gina, she was a beloved grandmother to Lauren, Elizabeth, Brendon, Dylan, Ashton Jr., and Luke, and a cherished great-grandmother to Charlotte, Eleanor, Benjamin, Leo, and Violet. Her family was at the heart of her life, and the love she shared with them will remain one of her most enduring gifts.
Gina will be remembered for her love of family, her free-spirited heart, her creativity, and caring nature. She had a generous heart and a kindness that extended far beyond those closest to her. Whether someone was a lifelong friend, a family member, or simply a person she had just met who was in need, Gina had a way of making people feel cared for and was always willing to give what she could.
Her greatest legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the love, memories, and traditions she created along the way. The beauty she found in life, the generosity she showed to others, and the love she gave so freely will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
Visitation for Gina will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 2:00pm Friday, August 21, 2026 at Fairmount Cemetery.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
