Thomas Ray Lumbley Sr., known as "Tom," of San Angelo, Texas, was 88 years old. He grew up in Eden, Texas, with his loving family. He fell asleep in death on August 13, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.
As a young man, Tom served briefly in the Navy in Rhode Island. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Clara Diane Lumbley. They were married for 69 years and had two children, Patricia and Thom Jr. Tom was a successful businessman in the oilfield for many years. He later owned a septic business, which he operated until his retirement.
In June of 1971, Tom made the decision to dedicate his life to Jehovah and was baptized. He was a respected and deeply loved elder. Many friends have fond memories of sharing in the ministry with him. He truly brought so much joy and heartfelt encouragement to everyone he met.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Diane Lumbley; his sister, Myrtie Bingham; his son, Thom Lumbley Jr., and his wife, Kelly Lumbley; his son-in-law Karl Knoblock, and his wife, Cindy Knoblock; his granddaughter, Kasey Dupree, and her husband, Trent Dupree; his grandson, Zachary Lumbley, and his wife, Stephanie Lumbley; his great-grandsons, Khristian Dupree and Ashton Dupree; and his great-great-granddaughter, Brylee Dupree.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Lumbley; his mother, Ruby Levada Lumbley; his daughter, Patricia Diane Knoblock; his brothers, William Lumbley and Bob Lumbley; and his sisters, Iva Devoss and Martha Mitchell.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Viewing will be from 10:00 AM- 8:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Robert Massie Funeral Home, located at 402 Rio Concho Drive, San Angelo, TX with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
A funeral service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 2021 Pulliam Street, San Angelo, TX, on August 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
