On August 6, 2026, in Concho Health and Rehab Center in Eden, Texas, Helen Ruth Bingham Martin joined loved ones in Heaven. Helen was born in Comanche, Texas, on April 7, 1934, the middle sibling of 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Helen attended schools in Mereta and Eola, Texas, through 11th grade, and she later earned her GED. After attending business school, Helen worked as an bookkeeper for Gandy’s Dairies and then at a radiology office in San Angelo, Texas, for 30 years. An avid puzzle fan, she also enjoyed dancing and attending jam sessions with her husband’s bluegrass band.
Helen was welcomed into Heaven by her husband Bill Martin; her parents Jessie Lee and Edward (“Shorty”) Bingham her grandson Josh Huff; her sister Georgia Aarons; her brothers Edward Bingham, James Bingham, Kenneth Bingham, and Roy Jay Bingham; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Helen is survived by her daughter Dawn Psencik (Dwain), her granddaughter Sarah Huff (Wendy) of Manor, Texas, and children Aspen, Alyssa, and Hayden Garcia of San Angelo, Texas; Josh’s children Ashton, Jaxson, and Lexson Huff and their mother Tarren Huff, of Bulverde, Texas; sisters Betty Mikeska, Faye Belle Bolton, Dessie Otts; step-granddaughters Melissa (Josef) Holme and their children Ella and Ethan of Austin, Texas; Rebecca (Mark) Guthrie and their children Wyatt and Libby of Buda, Texas; and Rachel (Trustin) Volesky and their children Harper and Ben of Buda, Texas.
Visitation for Helen Martin will be Wednesday, August 12, at Eden Funeral Home, from 5 pm until 7 pm. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, August 13, at First Baptist Church of Eden, Texas with burial in Mereta Cemetery east of Mereta, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
