Mrs. Huckabee was born May 20, 1971 in Norwich, Connecticut to Billy and Catherine Pettit. Theresa was raised in Big Lake where she was a 1989 graduate from the Reagan County High School. While in high school she was in the One Act Play and girls manager. Theresa received her Bachelors of Science from the Texas Women's University in 1992. Theresa worked as a nurses aid at Baptist Memorial. She taught early education at Grace Temple Baptist Church. Theresa returned to her passion as a librarian at the Tom Green County Library, retiring in April of 2026, after 26 years.
Theresa took great enjoyment in planning and organizing kids crafts and story time. Her time spent in the children's department at the library is something her nieces and nephews will always remember.
Theresa was a dog mom. She found her love of dogs early on in life. It would be an injustice to her to not mention them; Katy, Sassy, Buster, Harley, Flora, Partick, Loretta, and Spike.
Her favorite title was Aunt Pooh. It's easy to see how much she loved her nieces and nephews through her life. Aunt Pooh is always someone they could count on and turn to when they where in need.
Survivors include her three sisters, Michele Pettit McVinnie and husband Thomas, Rachel Pettit Sissney both of San Angelo, and Ashley Pettit Moore and husband Randy of Comanche; her nieces and nephews, Tyler Long, Madison Coley, Jorden Sissney, Hagen Pettit, Genevieve McFadden and husband Stephen; and a great niece, Gwen Pettit. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents.
