Jesus Rivas, 76, of Sterling City, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, in San Angelo.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Abel Rivas and Raul Resendez, officiating. Burial will follow at Montevalle Cemetery in Sterling City under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home in San Angelo.
Mr. Rivas was born December 23, 1949 in Melchor Múzquiz Coahuila, Mexico to Ramon and Isidra Rivas. Jesus has been a resident of Sterling City since 1976 where he raised his family. His priority was his faith, in which he raised and encouraged his children to follow the Lord. One of his greatest ambitions were his children, and grandchildren that he loved so much. Jesus lived his life with honesty and hard work and made sure to instill the same ethics to his family.
Survivors include his son, Abel Rivas and wife Taylor of Galveston; his four daughters, Monica Lopez and husband Victor of Sterling City, Mary Langley and husband Jason of Brandon, South Dakota, Claudia Silva and husband Alberto of Abilene, and Myrna Coll and husband Margarito "Jr" of Burnett; 15 grandchildren; Genesis Palos, Jocelyn Palos, Antoinette Rivas, Nevaeh Silva, Nataleigh Langley, Elijah Coll, Sara Silva, Nathaniel Langley, Faith Coll, Miranda Lopez, Nicholas Langley, Hannah Coll, Arden Rivas, Jael Lopez, one on the way; and a sister, Maria Elena Rivas of Melchor Múzquiz Coahuila, Mexico.
