Juan Antonio Reyes, Sr., 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2026, spending his last moments surrounded by friends and family.
Juan Reyes was born January 12, 1946, in Acuña, Mexico, to Antonio Reyes Torres and Rosalva Fuentes Reyes. He moved to the United States at the age of twelve and became a US Citizen in 1958. Juan married Alice Luna on July 30, 1966, in San Angelo. He was an Aviation Mechanic for Mitsubishi Aircraft International for 15 years and Ranger Aviation for 32 years, retiring in 2009. In his younger years, Juan enjoyed being a cowboy (charro). He had horses, goats, cows, chickens and roosters on his Ranchito where he loved spending his time. Juan loved people and never knew a stranger. If you were with him for any amount of time, you were sure to hear stories of his childhood memories, his animals, or the people he met through his job as an aviation mechanic. Juan was a loving friend to many and gave all that he had to those around him. Most of all, Juan loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He considered himself blessed.
Juan is survived by his daughter, Susy Castaneda and husband Eddie of Abilene; His son, Juan Reyes, Jr. and wife Alicia of San Angelo; Two sisters, Gloria Bermudez of Modesto, California, and Lucy Reyes Torrez and husband Oscar of San Angelo; Three brothers, Luis Reyes and wife Wanda, Memo Reyes and wife Vicky both of San Angelo, and Jose Reyes and wife Tina of Fort Worth; Six grandchildren, Alisha Terwilliger and husband Corey of Denton, Emma Murphy and husband Matthew of Stephenville, Luke Castaneda of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nicholas, Alison, and Alina of San Angelo; and his three great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Brynlee, and Cooper of Denton.
