Marsha Duggan Carrell passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at her home in San Angelo, Texas. Up until the end, Marsha maintained her sense of humor, strong-will, passion and love for her family, friends and pets.
Marsha was born on July 15, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Richard and Myra Duggan. During her childhood, her family moved frequently, living in New Jersey, Alabama, and Kansas City, Missouri, before landing in Wichita Falls, Texas where she married and started her family. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an accreditation in Medical Technology, dedicating her professional career to the medical field.
She remarried in June of '93 to Stephen Carrell, and together they shared a love of traveling. She was an avid reader and had a life-long passion for creative writing and published a short children's book with her sister.
Marsha was preceded in death by sons Charles and Chris, and sister Barbara.
She is survived by her husband Stephen Carrell, of San Angelo TX; brother Richard Duggan, son Steve Fryar and wife Bobbi of Tyler TX; daughter, Cynthia Jarvis and husband Rich of Sachse TX; five grandsons, Brandon and wife Nikki, Josh and wife Cynthia, Jordan, Collin and Shelby; three granddaughters, Amber, Ashley and Shelli, stepchildren, Kari, Wes and Clint, nieces, nephews, and several great-children.
Marsha will be remembered for her loving heart, strong Catholic faith, vibrant personality, and the steady guidance she provided her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will live on in all those she encountered.
A Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. Ambrose Church in Wall, TX with Father Joe Choutapalli officiating. Burial interment will follow at the columbarium onsite. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Catholic Outreach in San Angelo or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
