Charles "Chuck" M. Lovell, 85, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at his home.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Friday, August 8, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be at 9:00 AM Saturday, August 9, 2025, at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with Ft. Tom Barley, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. Military honors will be afforded by the Goodfellow Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Mr. Lovell was born December 1, 1939 in Springfield, Illinois. Chuck was a 1959 graduate of Gendale High School in Glendale, California. After graduation Chuck enlisted into the US Airforce. During his time in the service he served in San Antonio, Germany, Los Vegas, Florida, Tialand, Guam, Maryland and England. Chuck retired from the US Air Force in 1981 and settled in San Angelo in 1982. Chuck married Mary Roberts on March 22, 1967 in San Antonio. Chuck achieved his associates degree from Angelo State University. he worked at Shannon Medical Center and also San Angelo Community Medical Center as an X-Ray technician and doing untrasounds. Chuck attended Catholic Mass at Goodfellow Air Force Base Taylor Chapel. He loved sports, playing volleyball, golf, raquetball, softball and bowling. He loved watching his favorite teams the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Los Angeles Rams. Chuck was gentle, kind, had a dry sense of humor. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and friend.
Survivors include his wife Mary Lovell of the home; two sons, Martin Lovell and Matthew Lovell both of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Anthony Lovell and wife Ashley of Spokane, Washington, and Destani Lovell of Lubbock; two brothers, Richard Lovel and wife Jan of California, and Gary Lovell and wife Darlene of Idaho; a sister, Nancy Van Meter and husband Ellis of Illinois; an aunt, Fannie Franklin of Illinois; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill Lovell; a sister, Patricia Johannessen.
