Marion Dale Jones Jr., age 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Christoval, Texas, on July 7, 2025. He was born on January 30, 1963, in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, to Doris Jones and Marion Dale Jones Sr.
Marion spent his early years exploring the wonders of childhood before graduating from high school in Thornville, OH in 1981 and enlisting in the United States Air Force at the age of 18. He dedicated 20 years to honorable service in the USAF, stationed across Florida, California, Colorado, and Texas, before settling down permanently in Christoval. Following his military career, he transitioned into information technology and computer work, retiring from Northrup Grumman after many years of service.
On April 22, 1987, Marion married the love of his life, Susan Christine (Grijalva) Jones, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the iconic Circus Circus chapel. Their life together was full of love, adventure, and family.
Marion had a passion for gadgets and technology, playing the guitar, and building things for his kids and grandkids. He loved sharing stories, fixing what was broken, and creating from scratch anything he could imagine. He generously gave to numerous causes and found fulfillment in helping others behind the scenes.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan Christine Jones; his children: Brian Gregory Cons, wife Trinity (Temple, TX), Daniel Aaron Jones, wife Tiffany (Waxahachie, TX), Joshua David Schultz, wife Kristyn (San Angelo, TX); and his beloved grandchildren: Tristan Cons, Alex Jones, Angel Jones, Ryker Schultz, Riley Schultz, Thomasin Schultz and Koby Hawson; He is also survived by numerous family members; Sisters, Pamela Davis and Brenda King; nephew Paul Schwass, Brother, Jeffrey Jones; Nephew, Christian Jones; Aunts, Alice Jones, Janette Bowen, Joy Nibert, Sharon Webb, Connie Hussell and Hope Benson.
Pallbearers will include Danny, Brian, and Josh, with honorary pallbearers to be announced.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered support and prayers during this difficult time. Special thanks go to the team at Harper Funeral Home for handling the arrangements with care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity or cause close to Marion’s heart: San Angelo Meals for the Elderly, or Compassion International (Children in Foreign Countries).
