She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1969. As a young girl she contracted Polio and was told that she would never walk or have children. She persevered and overcame all the odds stacked against her. Linda married Leslie Ray Thompson on July 12, 1975, in San Angelo, who preceded her in death on August 7, 2016. She was a devout Christian and loved the Lord and all his people immensely.
Linda worked at Ethicon from 1971 - 1978, which was where she and Leslie met and fell in love, she later returned to work as an accounting clerk at the San Angelo Standard Times form 1981 - 2007, retiring after 26 years of service.
Linda was a dedicated member of Lakeview Baptist Church and later at Immanuel Baptist Church serving as a greeter. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, water exercising and everything family. Linda was always happy, optimistic, quick to forgive, adventurous, and would do just about anything her grandkids asked her to do.
Linda is survived by her two children, Pamela Blanton and son in law, Dennis of San Angelo and Benjamin Thompson and daughter in law, Tracy of San Angelo; her sister, Terrie Rushing of Amarillo; three brothers, Bud Gibson of Atoka, Oklahoma, Donnie Gibson of Aspermont, and Michael Lee Molina of Livingston; and four grandchildren, Jordan Blanton of San Angelo, Jarvis Duke Blanton of San Angelo, Jade Torres and husband Brenden of New Braunfels, Kelly Thompson of San Angelo; numerous nieces and nephews and one very beloved fur baby, Sugar, who was a very faithful companion after losing her beloved husband.
