Robert Sandoval, 70, of San Angelo passed peacefully from this life on Friday, June 28,2025 with his family by his side.
Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with the rosary being said at 6:00 PM. Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr Sandoval was born on November 10, 1954 in San Angelo to Juan and Amelia Hernandez Sandoval. Robert played football and track at Eddison Junior High and was named Mr. Crimson Tide. He started working at an early age washing dishes at Western Sky. Most people would recognize him from City Lumber or Home Depot. He retired in 2020 to take care of his wife. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather, He enjoyed BBQing, the Texas Longhorns, the Dallas Cowboys, fishing and having great luck at the casino. He married Mary Garces on July 22 , 1985 in San Angelo. She passed away on August 19, 2022.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and a sister, Ida Sercos.
Robert is survived by five children, Melissa Delarosa and wife Elsa of San Angelo, Melinda Vasquez and husband Juvenal "Shorty" of North Richland Hills, Mary Alice Solis and husband Rey of San Antonio, Art Gonzales, Jr. and wife Julie of San Angelo and Robert "Bobby" Sandoval, Jr. and wife Jennifer of San Angelo; his mother, Amelia Espinoza and husband Lionel of San Angelo; three siblings, Betty Espinosa and wife Melissa of Houston, Gloria Perez and husband Mario of San Angelo, John Sandoval and wife Toni of Austin and Esmerelda Zamarron of League City; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Anthony Gonzales, Cody Benne, Cody Benne, Jr. and Sonny Sandoval.
