John “Richard” Webb, 87, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025. Born on November 29, 1937, in San Angelo to O.D. “Pee Wee” and Clyde Othel Webb, Richard remained a lifelong resident of the city he loved.
A proud graduate of San Angelo High School, Class of 1956, Richard went on to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. A dedicated Longhorn and active member of the Texas Exes, he carried his UT pride with him throughout his life.
Richard began his professional career as a Certified Public Accountant, working with several firms before co-founding Webb & Webb CPA with his brother Wylie. Together, they served the San Angelo community for over 40 years, building a reputation for excellence, integrity, and personal service. Known for his sharp mind and personable nature, Richard had a gift for connecting with people and a deep commitment to his clients and community.
Beyond his professional life, Richard had a passion for sports, fitness, and fellowship. Whether he was working out, cheering on his favorite teams, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, he approached life with enthusiasm and heart. He will be remembered for his genuine kindness, his strong work ethic, and his unwavering love for those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.D. and Clyde Webb; his brothers, Charlie, Jack, Raymond, and Wylie Webb; and his nephew, David Crabtree.
Richard is survived by his devoted children and their families: Mark and Sherilyn Webb and their children, Tyler, Kaitlyn, and Lindsey; and Kelly and David Chaney and their son, Justin. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Pauneece Crabtree, and her children, Gene, Vicki, Pat, and Charlie, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
