Carey Ross Smith, 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Regency House Assisted Living in San Angelo.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith was born August 22, 2930 in Hempstead to Jessie Crockett and Myrtle (Anderson) Smith. Carey was the youngest of eight children.
Carey was a veteran of the US Army, school teacher and Arizona cattle rancher . Carey enjoyed western dancing up to just weeks prior to his passing. Carey was a remarkable inspiration with a grounded character and clever sense of humor.
Survivors include his only daughter, Elona Duell of Jupiter, Florida. Carey is preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Glenda (McClure) Smith, on January 10, 2021.
Carey will be deeply missed until joined in Heaven.
