Dan Hale, age 79 passed away on May 31, 2025 in San Angelo, TX. He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on April 30, 1946 to Marcus and Ruth Hale. He also welcomed a twin sister Yvonne Kays.
Dan graduated from Eagle Butte High School in South Dokota. He attended Northwestern University and joined the Army in July 1969. He served 2 tours in Vietnam where he was awarded the bronze star. He returned home and went to work for Gandy’s Dairy where he worked over 30 years as a routeman.
Dan loved to travel and meet new people. Dan served at Immanuel Baptist Church for many years in various roles. Dan loved the outdoors also. Fishing and camping were regular events on the weekends.
Dan is preceded in death by parents Marcus and Ruth Hale and beloved wife Melba Hale.
Dan leaves behind a sister Yvonne Kay and brother in law Keith; brother, Eddie and sister in law Molly; daughter Catrina Shafer; grandchildren, Whitney and Joshua Barnett; great-grandchildren, Xiana and Eviana Luckey; Lynnix and Kreed Barnett; sister-in-laws Edith Zimmerman and Wanda Hudson; extended family Robert and Erlinda Carmona and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at Immanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
