Larry Wayne Isom of San Angelo passed away on May 25th, 2025. Born in Ennis, TX on September 18, 1950, Larry graduated from Ennis High School in 1969. He enjoyed many adventures with lifelong friends Jerry Yarbrough, Tommy Salama, James Woody, Chuck Kubala and others. In 1972, he met Donna Lynn Trojacek, the love of his life. They married on May 19th, 1973 when he was farming over 5,000 acres near Ennis. In 1981, they moved to Big Lake, TX where Larry ran an oilfield service company. They shared 52 years together, traveling by boat, cowboy camper, and motorcycle, especially enjoying trips on his Goldwing Trike.
Larry overcame a severe medical condition in 1998, regained his pilot’s license, and served 16 years as Reagan County Judge. He was a successful businessman and founded L&D Inc. with his wife Donna, running it until retirement. Larry loved visiting his ranch and watching the West Texas sunset. He had two sons, Gerald Wayne and Larry Matthew, and enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren: Lucas, Juliana, Gregory, Conner, and Dakota. Surviving him are Donna, Gerald, Jamie, Lucas, Juliana, Gregory, Matt, Jillian, Conner, Dakota, brother Garry Isom and Family, Andrew Isom and Hunter Isom. Larry is also survived by his Coach, Javier Villeda, who provided care, comfort and companionship to Larry and his family in his final months. Larry was preceded by his parents George Wade and Laura Jean Isom, and brother Michael Dee Isom. A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
