David Anthony Duncan was born November 3, 1960, in Crescent City, CA to Doyle and Roberta (Paten) Duncan. He passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at his residence in San Angelo, TX at the age of 64.
David grew up across the river from Crescent City in Brookings, OR where he attended Harbor High School. He continued his education by earning his Forrest Fire Fighter Certification. David’s love for the outdoors began his career path in Campground Service working for the KOA Campgrounds. After 30 years of service, he retired as the KOA Campground Manager in San Angelo.
David migrated to Texas in 1985, where he married the love of his life, Brenda Colbaugh, on September 16, 1995. David had two bonus children, Thomas and Shawna.
David was a jack of many trades, but a master of none. He had many life skills that came naturally to him. David was a hard worker with a witty sense of humor. He was a proud member of the Campgrounds of American. David enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doyleen Stires; brother, Dewayne Duncan; and niece, Candi Duncan.
Those left to cherish David’s memory are his wife, Brenda; daughter, Shawna Haman and husband Brad; son, Thomas Thompson and Nancy McNabb; brother, Archie Duncan; sisters, Connie Gustonquay and Charlotte Tharp and husband Steve; grandchildren, Dean Bentley, III and fiancé Kasteyl Lukes, Tyler Blanchard and wife Rebekah, Tommy Thompson, and Jason Mayfield and wife Angelica; great-grandchildren, Rainen Blanchard, Samuel Jean, Julie Jean, and Raylyn Tyler; nieces and nephews, Darwin Gustonquay, Clifton Gustonquay, Tom Gustonquay, Joey Gustonquay, Mary Gustonquay, Icle Duncan, Daisy Duncan, Jasper Duncan, Chris Duncan, Bryan Duncan, Tamisha McAlister, Stephanie Shuck and fiancé Daniel Davis, Maricilee Tharp (Patrick), Brian Tharp and wife Julie, Darren Tharp and wife Brandy; and numerous family and friends.
Celebration of Life for David will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, please contact the family for more information. Cremation services have been entrusted to Johnson & Johnson Funeral home in San Angelo.
