Raymundo H. Gomez, age 84, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. He was born on February 18, 1941, in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico, to Julian and Ana Gomez Hernandez.
On March 6, 1965, Raymundo married the love of his life, Ascension, and together they built a beautiful legacy with their 10 children. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Raymundo was known for his deep love of family, unwavering faith, and generous spirit.
Raymundo was a faithful member of the Rio Vista Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. His life was guided by his relationship with Jehovah, which remained strong throughout the years. He found joy in singing and dancing and was always willing to lend a hand—whether through his skills as a handyman or simply by being present for those he loved. He especially cherished his time visiting his children in Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lucia Delgado, and his brothers Vicente and Jesus Gomez.
Raymundo is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ascension Gomez, and their children: Rodrigo Gomez, Yolanda Gomez and husband Lupe, Ana Gomez, Jesus Gomez, Juan Carlos Gomez and wife Raquel Castillo, Irma Nino and husband Antonio, Aracely Gomez, Elizabeth Contreras and husband Roy, Reyna Fernandez and husband Victor, and Norma Nieto and husband Alfredo. He also leaves behind his siblings: Jose Gomez, Benito Gomez, Amparo Gomez, and Consuelo Gomez, along with numerous grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral service beginning at 4 p.m., officiated by Jesus Ordaz.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Raymundo in his final days.
