Colene Cowan, 81, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, in San Angelo.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Mr. Brandon Slater, pastor of Green Meadow Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cowan was born December 26, 1943, to Robert and Lela Smith in Clarkton, North Carolina. Colene married Benjamin "Benny" Cowan on December 22, 1962, in El Paso. She was a resident of Odessa, moving to San Angelo in 2022. Colene was a Realtor for Century 21 and Trower Realtors in Midland for over 15 years. She was a former member of the West Odessa Church of Christ and is a member of Green Meadow Church of Christ. Colene would talk to her two sisters and brother multiple times a day. She enjoyed dinners at Christmas and Thanksgiving, playing Chinese Christmas with family. Her greatest life lesson is to love the Lord with all her heart, soul, and mind and to love your neighbor. Colene was proud to have been able to return to school later in life to take college classes and get her realtor license.
Survivors include her husband, Benny Cowan; her daughter, Kim Livengood and husband, Bobby of San Angelo; her grandson, Christiaan Livengood and wife Destyne of Dallas; two sisters, Margaret Grimes of El Paso and Carolyn Stasik of Bladenboro, North Carolina; and her brother, Richard Smith of High Point, North Carolina. Colene was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Francis Nance.
