Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and a friend to many, was sent to her eternal home on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. She was born on August 31st, 1948 in San Angelo TX where she grew up and raised her beautiful family.
Raquel was a very strong woman and never knew a stranger. She loved family time as she was always the life of the party. She was an amazing cook, loved the Lord, enjoyed hanging out with her sister and dedicated her last 5 years to raising her infamous side kick, her great grandson, Ezreal “EZ” Harris.
Raquel was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Sanchez, parents Guillermo and Lilly Valdez, and brothers Rene Valdez and Peewee Valdez. She is survived by her sister Linda Escobedo and brother Chapo Valdez, children Annette Garza, Norma Polanco, Samantha DeLaCruz, Natasha Sanchez, and Jodi Valdez. Grandchildren include Erlu Polanco, Breyanna Ortiz, Christopher Polanco, Joshua Cady, Hailey Sessom, Gabriella Selbera, Oscar Casillas, Bryson DeLaCruz, Anastasia Candela, Baylor Gonzales, Lee Hernandez and over 10+ great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 9th, 2025 at 3pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home.
