Bertha Garza, 72, of Big Lake, Tx passed away Monday, April 21, 2025.
Bertha was born on January 17, 1953 in Rosales Mexico. She married Jose Garza on August 14, 1985, in Big Lake. Bertha worked at Reagan County Middle School in the special education department for 30 years. She also served as a Pep Club sponsor and tennis coach. She loved RCMS and the Reagan County Owls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Hernandez, and daughter, Tammy Jo Hernandez. She is survived by her husband, Jose Garza; daughter, Yvonne Carroll (Ray), son, Orlando Garza; sister, Dora Subia (Eddie); brothers, Pedro Hernandez, Jr., and Mario Hernandez (Loriza); grandchildren, Jackson Carroll, Quinn Carroll, Emma Garza, and Charlotte Garza. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family. The joy of her life was being a mom, grandmother and a tia.
The viewing will be held at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church in Big Lake on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM. The Rosary will begin at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret of Cortona with burial to follow at Glenrest Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
