Jose "Joe" Alvarado Garcia

Jose "Joe" Alvarado Garcia, age 86, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

He was born on February 5th, 1939 in Ozona, TX to Manuel and Bentura Garcia.

Joe began his career in cabinetry, working for Terrel Manufacturing as a cabinet maker.

Joe Married Rebecca on August 10th, 1959 and had 5 children.

He had a passion for his family, especially his grandchildren, and will always be remembered for his words of wisdom, his love for God, and leadership with the family and his work ethic.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Bentura Garcia; Brothers, Manuel Garcia and Jesse Garcia; Sisters, Chonita Alvares, Margaret Perez, Edna Padilla, Emma Maldonado, and Mary Hernandez.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Garcia; siblings; Larry Garcia, Mela Ubando, and Romy Guajardo; Children, Christina Garcia, Bentura Garcia, Esperanza Guzman, Steve Garcia, and Anthony S. Garcia; Grandchildren; Angie Gutierrez, Andrea Martinez, Amy Williamson, Jacob A. Garcia, Monica Salinas, Christopher Ledezma, Rachel Ledezma, Amanda Garcia, Kyle Garcia, Michelle Reyes, Esmeralda Perez, Daniel Garcia, Sonia Garcia, Joseph Garcia, ANdrew Garcia, Steve Garcia Jr., JB Garcia, Ashley Garcia, and Thomas Garcia; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care and attention.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23rd from 4-8 pm at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 24th at 10 am at Johnson's funeral home followed by a graveside service at Farimount Cemetery.
