Jimmie W. Ames, 74, of San Angelo passed away on Friday, April 11th. He was born on July 20, 1950 in Granbury Texas to Jim Calvin Ames and Joyce Newmon Ames. Jimmie attended San Angelo Central high school and graduated in the class of 1968. He later went on to obtain a BBA from Angelo State University, Jimmie then began his career in agriculture, working for the Soil Conservation Service. Jimmie Ames married Joyce Bubnik in 1970 and had 1 child. Jimmie was a proud democrat and had a passion for animals and family, and will be remembered for his love of cats.
A visitation for Jimmie will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903.
A graveside service will occur Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Millersview Cemetery, Co Rd 6006, 31°25'13.1"N 99°44'44.9"W, Millersview, TX 76862. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a memorial donation to a pet adoption agency.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Hall and Dr. Morti Rivera, as well as their staff. Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Jim C. Ames and Joyce newmon Ames, and his sister Connie Myers.
Jimmie leaves behind his son Chance William Ames, of san angelo, His Granddaughter Selena Rivero, of San angelo, and husband Joaquin Rivero, and his great-granddaughter Naomi Rivero.
