Mary Rosie Lombrana, 80, of San Angelo, Texas started her new life as she entered eternal rest from her home on Friday, March 28, 2025. She was born on July 13, 1944 and graduated from Central High School in 1962. Rosie had a long career with GTE before retiring after 20+ years of service and 20+ years at Fuentes Downtown.
Rosie was an avid reader. Coffee and sweetbread were absolute staples for daily enjoyment. Her passion for life, her family, and her church were her life’s mission. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and was a member of the Guadalupanas Society. She taught CCD classes and Marriage Classes at Sacred Heart and dearly loved attending the Aglow Prayer Service.
Rosie married the love of her life, Manuel Lombrana, on November 20, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in San Angelo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Lombrana, son Anthony Lombrana, grandson Rex Lombrana, and her parents Rosendo and Virginia Fuentes. She is survived by daughter Gina Lombrana (Amy Jasper) and grandson Manuel Ray Lombrana, brother John (Lisa) Fuentes, sister Rita (Larry) Sicina. She was blessed with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved their “RoRo”.
We would especially like to give thanks to all who gave her exceptional care. A special thank you to Hospice of San Angelo and all the staff that assisted with her care. Also, to Sylvia Castorena for her friendship and assistance over the years and the Guadalupanas who prayed and visited her weekly. Finally, a very special acknowledgement for her grandson, Ray, her rock, who absolutely adored his grandmother and has been providing excellent care and support to his “Mija, Grandma” through the years. Mom had many that she considered as daughters, sons, and grandchildren. There are too many to name, but she treated them as her own and loved very much.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2025, from 5-7 pm at Harper Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Lawnhaven Cemetery.
Carrying Rosie to her final resting place will be her nephews, John Ross Fuentes, Barry Sicina, and Mark Sicina, cousins, Gilbert Velez and John Muraida, and brother-in-law, John Lombrana. Honorary pallbearers are grandson, Ray Lombrana, brother, John Fuentes, brother-in-law, Larry Sicina, nephew, Nicholas Trevino, and friends, Jesse Barron and Rosendo Valdez.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral or Hospice of San Angelo.
