Sylvia June Thomasson of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on March 25th, 2025, at the Bronte Nursing Home in Bronte, Texas. She was born on September 6, 1941, in Haskell, Texas, to Thurman and Marie (Mobley) Howeth.
As a child June was raised on a cotton farm in Haskell. She attended Haskell School district from grade school to high school. In high school, her love for Elvis began. She sang and dressed like Elvis in a school talent show. She traveled to see him perform in multiple places. Throughout her travels she collected memorabilia. She was given a green scarf by Elvis during one of his Las Vegas concerts. After her travels, June moved to Sweetwater, Texas, where she raised her children and volunteered with Jaycee’s Rattlesnake Round up for 20+ years. She retired from Texas National Bank in 2015 after 20 years of service. After retirement in 2017 she relocated to San Angelo to be closer to her son and grandchildren.
She is survived by daughter, Cora Brittain and husband Robert of Beavercreek, Ohio, son, Joseph Thomason and wife Stacia of San Angelo, Texas, 2 grandsons, Aaron Thomasson, and Cayden Thomasson; 2 granddaughters, Brooklynn McCormick and husband Wylie, and Alyana Thomasson; great granddaughter, Ryann-Kate McCormick all of San Angelo, Texas and the Martinez Family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her aunt, Beatrice Mobley.
Funeral service will be held at Harper Funeral Home on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:00am.
