Cayetano R. Tarin, age 89, of San Angelo, passed away on March 10, 2025.
He was born on August 11, 1935, in Karnes, Texas, to Jose and Isidra Tarin. Before retiring, Cayetano worked in various roles that he cherished, including over 20 years at Holsum Bakery as a bread maker, as a custodian for SAISD and HEB, and contributing to the holiday spirit by helping to maintain live Christmas trees for Freeze Etc.
Cayetano married Nellie Hinojos Tarin on February 29, 1958, and together they had eight children. In his free time, Cayetano enjoyed watching the Cowboys and the Texas Rangers games, visiting casinos, watching Western Movies, and playing bingo.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nellie Tarin; his parents, Jose and Isidra Tarin; Children, Nellie Tarin, Alma Rangel, Joe Tarin; and Grandchildren, Fernando Joe Rangel, and Michelle Rangel.
Cayetano is survived by his children: Peggy Bara (Pete), Sandra Stoner (Rodney), Abel Tarin, Jr. Tarin (Rachel), and Debbie Champion (Michael); his grandchildren: Melissa Ramirez, Bryan Rangel, Ashley Rangel, Jennifer Cedillo (David), Jayson Zapata (Claire), Joe Ross, Heather Galvan (DJ), Geno Tarin, Chelsey McCarty, and Victoria Martinez (Marcus); and great-grandchildren: Sierra Rios, Marissa Ramirez, Andrea Ramirez, Faith Rangel, Mercedes Rangel, AJ Rangel, Ayden Ruiz, Madyson Ruiz, Adamaris Rangel, Savannah Rangel, Nevaeh Rangel, Brandon Cedillo, Grayson Zapata, Kipton Zapata, Easton Zapata, Aubree Andrade, Penelope Galvan, and Trinity Martinez. He is also survived by one great-great-grandchild, Berkley Soto.
Funeral services will be held at Johnson’s Funeral Home, 435 W. Beauregard Ave., San Angelo, TX, on March 13, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a rosary service at 12:00 PM, and the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery following the service.
