With heartfelt sadness we are announcing the death of our father Robert Edwin Hanger. He was born on May 18, 1934 in Huntington, West Virginia to Theodore Otis & Percy Lee Tucker. Robert is survived by 6 children: Pamela Adams, Robert Randall Hanger, Connie Morgan, Robbie Economos, Rhonda Jones and Roni Short. Grandfather & Great Grandfather to many.
Robert graduated from Huntington High School and attended Marshall University. He started his career as a newscaster in Tampa, Florida. He enthusiastically made the switch to radio broadcasting and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia. He was known as "BG in Studio 3." After the radio station was sold, Robert became a sales representative for Armor Products. Robert then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Daniel. The couple then moved to San Angelo, Texas to be near Barb's family. After retirement, he drove a limousine to socialize and meet new people. Robert was an avid reader and held a wealth of knowledge of the music industry. He introduced hundreds of celebrities during his MC days in Virginia. Later in life dad joined the local Baptist church where he met his best friends. Robert will be remembered for his sharp mind, sense of humor, and his love for his family and friends. He loved to travel throughout the United States & Europe. He lived a long fulfilled life and will be missed by many.
