Maria Josefina Zile, 74, passed away on Sunday, February, 23, 2025.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Zile was born on March 28, 1950 in Caracas, Venezuela to Alirio Blanco and Alais Pacheco. Maria graduated from Andres Bello Catholic University on October 4, 1974 in Caracas and from the University of Oregon on September 6, 2003 with a masters degree. She married Kenneth Zile on July 27, 1978 in St Petersburg Beach, FL. He passed away on May 19, 2011 after 33 years of marriage. Maria was a Spanish teacher at Peoria ISD in Peoria, Arizona before retiring from Crow-Applegate-Lorane High School in Eugene, Oregon in 2010. After retirement, Maria moved to San Angelo and was a substitute teacher for many years.
Maria was an extraordinary mom who loved her children with no end, always accepting others with open arms. She had a passion for teaching, reading, being the best Mima, being outdoors and watching her grandkids play sports. She also loved everything Egyptian, Reading, Bonanza, Indiana Jones and other movies and shows from that era. She was a devoted Catholic. Maria was passionate, sweet, loving, selfless, stubborn, and spicy. She was her dad's little "Chirelito" she lived life for every happy moment and to the fullest. She was a great conversationalist. Maria was always so happy, smiling and laughing. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Maria Teresa Blanco.
Maria is survived by two children, Moriah Morgan and husband Jason of Salem, Oregon and Melanie Morrison and husband Brandon of San Angelo; four siblings, Josefina Blanco de Cornejo and husband Jose Lorenzo Cornejo of Caracas, Venezuela, Marta Blanco of Miami, Florida, Aracelis Blanco of Atlanta, Georgia, and Cristina Blanco de Santana and husband William Santana of Cumana, Venezuela; and six grandchildren, Tyrell Morgan, Kenneth Morgan, Kari Ann Morgan, Soriah Morrison, Cierra Morrison, and Brodie Morrison.
