Richard O. Wuertemburg, age 91, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
He was born on June 8, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to Lola and Nestor Wuertemburg. Richard attended San Angelo High School and graduated in the class of 1951. He later went on to obtain a 2 year degree from Houston Commercial College. After, Richard began his career in carpentry, working for Templeton Construction and Goodfellow Air Force Base as a Master Carpenter.
Richard married Mary on September 2, 1969. He had 4 children and 2 step-children. Richard was a proud member of the San Angelo Pool League and was very competitive when it came to pool tournaments. He will also be remembered for his carpentry skills and love of fishing during his younger years.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Lola and Nestor Wuertemburg; wife, Mary L. Wuertemburg; life partner, Jessica Diaz; Wuertemburg siblings, Nestor and Jimmy; sisters, Ophelia, Clorinda, Vivian, Ernistine, and Betty; step-daughter, Lydia Garcia; and step-son, Samuel Luna.
Left to cherish Richard's memory are his daughters, Lola Ojeda (Martin), Elaine Fox (James), Arlene Hernandez (Johnny), and only son, Richard Wuertemburg, Jr. Richard also leaves behind multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Richard will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday February 11, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home with interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Richard's grandsons, Martin Ojeda, Jr., Mathew Ojeda, Sergio Gatica, Baby James Fox, Josa Ramos, and Chris Garcia.
