Orville "Butch" Luedecke, Jr., 78, of Eden passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mr. Luedecke was born on February 10, 1946, in Eldorado to Orville and Wilma Burrus Luedecke. Butch graduated from Eldorado High School and joined the U. S. Army in Oct. of 1966 and served in Vietnam until Oct. of 1968. He married Rebecca Sorrell in 1974. He farmed and ranched in the Eden and Eldorado areas his entire life. He raised Black Brangus cattle, participated in livestock shows and rodeos. Butch was always tinkering with something; fixing farm equipment or working on one of his trucks. He was outgoing, enjoyed laughing and joking with others. Many would say he never met a stranger. Butch was true to the lifestyle, farmers and ranchers don't retire; they work until the end.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jesse Luedecke and Willie Luedecke.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca of Eden; a son, Danny Luedecke of Dallas; a granddaughter, Pressley Inez Luedecke; and a sister, Rosa Calcote and husband Mike of Eldorado.
